Alyssa and I were inspired by a photo we saw on Pinterest and really wanted to just straight-up copy it, so I had Tyler Warren come over and do some fun shooting with us in the studio.
Below in black & white is the original image we copied next to a warm and a cool version.
I can understand someone seeing this and thinking that this isn't cool. It's like I copied someone's homework and took the credit. And I would kind of agree. I don't even know who took this original image, unfortunately, so I can't even say "inspired by whomever."
BUT, one thing I learned from this shoot is that copying an image doesn't make me proud of the image. What makes me proud were the other images we got during the shoot... And that's the point- using something that's already made (whether by an artist or the universe) to inspire you. Art isn't really just made up; it's borrowed and stolen and inspired. And that's OKAY. I read this great book about it awhile back called Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon. Read it. It's sure to inspire you like it did me. Anyway, here are the rest of the images we got during this shoot.
Thanks Tyler for being a great model as always. <3
Also, thank you Alyssa for your help & creative direction.
