#BlindLocation - 32

Nitty Beat. Aka: Hanuit. Dope name. Cool guy. Amazing artist.

I'm already stoked when I find out someone is an artist, especially if I actually like their work. But I'm extra impressed with Nitty, because not only is he a great photographer, he only shoots with film. There's no editing done. Not even dodging or burning in a dark room. He shoots, sends off his film to be developed, gets it back, and done.

I met Nitty on Instagram. He had gone to Safelight Labs and seen my work up on the wall last month and tagged me. I saw it, looked at his work, loved it, and followed him. Then, about a month ago when I put on my IG story that I wanted to do more art shows, he messaged me info about Tangerine, which is the art show I was in a few weeks ago.

We shot this #BlindLocation in the spot we landed in National City the morning of his art show, Food Porn, which is exactly what it sounds like and which he had been working on for a year.

I'm a pretty quick and minimalist photographer, so I have a lot of respect for photographers who take a long time creating their work before showing it to the world.

That night I went to his show at 5 & Dime and had a great time.

Thanks Nitty for shooting with me. You're my favorite kind of model. The kind who, before the shoot, says, "I'm shy and I don't smile." Perfect.

Love these shots we got. And sorry we pissed off that guy when I took the last photos of you in his driveway. It was worth it, but I will think twice before stepping onto someone's property again. I'm not exaggerating when I say I felt really bad for putting you in danger like that. I was warned, so sorry again! I hope that guy doesn't do anything with the photo he took of my license plates. Ahh!

Thanks again! And thank you everyone for watching each week!
